For me, turning 50 was the pits. It felt like my life was on a downhill slide that I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t get my head around the fact that I was a half-century old. I definitely didn’t feel my age — I still felt like 30-something!

A lot of that thinking came from my parents who believed reaching 40 meant you were over the hill.

It was so painful, I wouldn’t let anyone say it out loud!

It’s funny now, but not so amusing at the time.

Thankfully, I adjusted to the new reality and started seeing things from an entirely different perspective. Mid-life wasn’t so bad afterall.

It finally started becoming crystal clear to me that life is far from over at 50. I now see that the second half of life can actually be the BEST.

When it comes to well-being, on a scale of 1-10, as people age, our well-being quotient rises with our age, climbing to its highest levels when we reach our 80s and 90s, according to Nielsen. Dilip Jeste, director of the UC San Diego Center for Healthy Aging and senior author of the study states that “people who were in older life were happier, more satisfied, less depressed, had less anxiety and less perceived stress than younger respondents.”

Think about it — by the time you’ve been on this planet 50 years, you have the benefit of understanding, knowledge and experience you couldn’t possibly have gained without walking through fire, probably dozens of times, figuratively speaking.

You know a lot. Over time, you store a lot of stuff in that brain of yours and you draw on it whenever you need it.

Not only that, but you tend to grow more curious about everything. Your mind never stops, you read more and you continue to explore life’s wonders.

You have hit your stride, baby!

the power of you

Harnessing Your Potential

Through my own personal journey, I’ve learned that mid-life is all about believing in myself, being and doing whatever the heck I want to be and do. It’s my time to bloom.

The same is true for you. This version of you is so much wiser and better able to make decisions than the former you. You get it.

It’s possible to turn the second half of life into the most rewarding, impactful years of your life. It’s your time to use your power to create the special, sacred life you want.

Obstacles!? Well, guess what? You can learn to overcome any obstacle — you have that power within you.

Your mind is NOT like concrete, no matter what the age. You can continue to grow your brain’s capacity to create, learn and to solve problems.

That means you CAN change and grow your brain. You CAN create new neural patterns.

There are so many ways you can grow and evolve to fully become yourself. This is what we will explore here on this site. So jump in… arms wide open!
